About the band and trailer
The Jefferson High School marching band is entering its third year of existence. We had a strong showing in our two years and have doubled in size since the first season. We’ve had a very successful history, placing 1st in class at two out of three shows and finishing in the top three out of 27 bands at our third competition. Our band program provides unique and entertaining shows at various competitions around the region, home football games and various concerts throughout the year. The Cavalier Marching Band is striving to achieve a high level of excellence. There are many expenses in developing a top-notch marching band. We pay for music arrangers, drill design, color guard choreography, copyright fees, additional instructors, flags, some uniform costs, props, and some meals for our students and families. We purchased a 51ft semi-trailer for the purpose of safely getting all of our equipment, instruments, uniforms, and props to our performances. It will be a great source of pride for our group. The trailer is in great shape, but we need to do some minor repairs and wrap our trailer with our graphic design. We also need to build the inside of the trailer to fit our needs. Right now, it’s an empty shell. We have been fundraising for our program, but could use additional help in “getting our show on the road”. The Jefferson High School Band Parent Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations can be tax deductible within IRS rules. |
