Introduction to Reading Music

Chalumeau, Throat Tones, Clarion, Altissimo

The clarinet has the potential to play over 3+ octaves. The most practical range is from E below the treble clef staff to over G above the treble clef staff. These 3+ octave are broken down into 3 different registers.
  • Note: Throat Tones overlap the top part of the Chalumeau register.​
