Become a Marching Cavalier!
Marching band is a very rewarding and fun activity. It's fun to participate with your peers and attend various regional competitions. Our shows will be highly creative and fun to perform. Choreographed shows are performed at home football games and regional/national competitions during the fall. Along with wind and percussion instruments, this ensemble also includes a color guard that provides the audiences another level of visual entertainment.
A two-week band camp is scheduled appropriately two weeks before school starts in the fall. Then the season runs from band camp through approximately the third week of October. During the season, we rehearse from 5pm-9pm every Tuesday and Thursday at JHS. We can compromise with students who are involved in other school-related activities, i.e. football, soccer, XC, but it is the responsibility of the student to communicate with their coaches and Mr. Macklin & Mr. Kurtz about any scheduling conflicts. At the end of our season, we host a Chicken Dinner & Indoor Show event. This a moving date each year due to our competition season, All State Choir & Orchestra, and other activities going on at JHS but is typically towards the beginning of November. Be sure to check out our schedule for the confirmed hand and claim your ticket to this events! |
