Bullet Points for the trip
  • The trip is over President's Day weekend 2024.
  • The trip is $1680. This can be paid through fundraising or out-of-pocket.
    • The trip MUST be paid in full before leaving.​

  • Students with Activities Violations and/or who are in poor standing with the JHS Band Program will lose the privilege of going on the trip.
  • To go on the trip the student must either be in a class band (Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Freshman Band) - OR - be a Color Guard member during the '23 marching band season.

Parents
  • If you are interested in chaperoning for the trip, please fill out this form.​  
Parent Chaperone Application
  • The SFSD will have a selection committee that will choose who will chaperone the trip.
  • Ratio: 1 male chaperone per 10 male students;
                     1 female chaperone per 10 female students.

​Prior to the trip, we would appreciate you joining our Band Parent Association and attending other events to learn more about the students and the program as a whole.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can parents go without being a chaperone?
  • Yes, they will need to pay the amount for the trip. (Note: Depending on how many you plan to have in your room, it may affect the cost of the trip.)

Can money be moved from one students account to another, i.e. Choir or Orchestra to Band?
  • ONLY if that money was personally deposited. Any money fundraised belongs to that respected program.

If I were to decide to NOT go on the trip after making payments, will I be refunded?
  • Sunshine Travel Company has their refund policy written out in their Terms & Conditions. Click here and scroll to #4.
              (Note: The initial $350 will be non-refundable.)

Is it possible for my family to stay longer than the schedule trip?
  • Yes, additional paperwork will be need to be filled out for this. (Note: All individuals travelling through Sunshine Travel Company will still need to pay the full price, no discount will be added for only flying one-way.)


Important Notes
  • All students only have (1) opportunity for a rotational trip with the JHS band in their high school career.
  • All students enrolled in band and all color guard members are eligible to go on the trip.
  • A deposit of $350 from all students going on the trip is due before the end of the school year.
  • We host fundraisers to help cover the cost of the trip but it is ultimately your responsibility to pay for the trip.
    • The trip must be paid in full PRIOR to departing.​
