Additional Equipment
This page contains other equipment that is recommended to have as a trumpeter.
Microfiber Cleaning Cloth (if not included) - To help remove fingerprints off the trumpet.
Cleaning Kit - A mouthpiece brush, valve brush, and snake brush are essential to have in order to keep the instrument clean and you healthy.
Valve Oil - Help prevent your valves from sticking with the use of valve oil.
Slide Gapper - The ring on the 3rd valve slide may be too large, especially for younger trumpet players. Purchasing a Slide Gapper can reduce that space and make it easier for players to move the 3rd valve slide.
Mouthpiece Puller - The mouthpiece can become stuck in the lead piper. When this happens, use a mouthpiece puller to safely remove the mouthpiece.
Trumpet Stand - A trumpet stand is great to have for students who may need to switch instruments in a concert or Jazz set.
Mutes - Trumpet mutes are largely used in jazz music but you do see them in other musical repertoire. The most common used mutes are Straight and Cup mutes. Check your local music store to try these out in person!
Tuner/Metronome - Nowadays, you can have a tuner and metronome at all times on your phone. I highly recommend the TE (Tonal Energy) Tuner App. It cost a couple of dollars but is a steal for the quality you get!!
